After Jeon Ji Hyun's Blood: The Last Last Vampire and Lee Byung Hun's G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, we have another big-name Korean actor trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood. Jang Dong Gun has been away from Korea since 2007 for the filming of his Hollywood movie, The Warror's Way (formerly known as Laundry Warrior) in New Zealand, co-starring Kate Bosworth. The movie itself has been shrouded in secrecy although it's set for release sometime this year.
The movie is about an Asian warrior assassin (Jang Dong Gun) who finds peace, contentment and perhaps love (Kate Bosworth) in a forgotten western town on the edge of the desert but is then faced with...?
But visitors to Youtube.com recently, discovered a 3min 50s clip from the movie. And the clip was apparently leaked. According to the production house, the clip was not meant to be released officially to the public and someone must have intentionally leaked it online. This clip was released for the recent Cannes International Film Festival and there are some rough edges, as post-production CG hasn't been fully done.
The clip included scenes of Jang Dong Gun meeting Kate Bosworth, gun battles and fighting scenes. The film is helmed by Korean, Sngmoo Lee and co-stars several Hollywood stars, like Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush, etc. Jang Dong Gun has mentioned before in an interview that he has high hopes for the movie and hopes to make a name for himself in Hollywood with this. So check out the clip while it's still available.
After watching the trailer, I am not sure what should I make of this. I still have nightmares of Jang Dong Gun running like a mad man in that horrible Chinese fantasy
