With allkpop booked up and their hands full, I took it upon myself to share with you guys my latest remix production personally.

I know most of you have read up on my first remix of the track posted back in February when the clips of I Did It For Love leaked online. Although you guys all seemed to like it, I decided to dial it up a few notches; making it less trance and more of a dirty club-banger.

For this particular remix, I used short instrumental breaks to extract vocal samples and to pull forward the vocals. In my mixes, I tend to try to allow layers of the original backing instrumental to bleed through so that the vocals aren't too distorted through the countless filters I put the album track through. As opposed to my first remix, I took out the trance-like synths as I felt that they got lost in the synths of the original track. I replaced the percussions as well for a bigger punch and more varied beats to groove to.

I started out the mix by ironing out the track to have a constant beat of 130 bpm (beats per minute). I then proceeded by creating a metronome-like beat to keep myself in check. Next, I do all the vocal extractions I can and sync that to the album track. From then on, I brainstorm and think of the song structure I want to commit to throughout the track, get onto the bassline... percussions and so forth. When working on a remix, I'm usually just tapping around my Korg, sleepless after a night of too much Soju fun.

And for those who are wondering about the program I used for this track, I used Reason by Propeller Head. I also used Melodyne for finishing vocal and chord sequences.

The track featured in this video is a condensed version. I apologize for the glitches, the mp3 download version doesn't sound distorted. Youtube does not love me.
