This could actually be settled in 1 story but because of the mess created by the media here and here, there has to be a 3rd article to wrap up the trilogy of events.
SBS has finally made an official announcement today that Park Si Yeon and Park Hae Jin will indeed be the new family members. According to one of the staff, "After a lengthy discussion, our team have decided on Park Si Yeon and Park Hae Jin as the new members. They will take over from Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee who had no choice but to leave due to their packed schedules." There have been lengthy discussions between SBS and the management agencies of both Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee to try and work something out over the past week. But because of the conflict in filming schedules, they had to leave the family after almost a year of filming.
The names of Park Si Yeon and Park Hae Jin were thrown up on the same day where rumors of Ye Jin and Chun Hee leaving were reported. It became a hotly debated topic among the media and fans about them being the replacements. But the production team only said that they were being considered then but not confirmed. One Family Outing staff said, "We did extend an invitation for them to be on the show but we hadn't make a final decision then. The media just jumped the gun and said that they were confirmed as the replacements. Our department head said afterwards that we should get Park Si Yeon and Park Hae Jin on the show if there weren't any problems because the media had already reported it like this. It would be awkward if we got someone else in later."
Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee will be recording their final episode for Family Outing today and tomorrow (1 - 2nd June) at a village in Gangwon province. There will be no guest family member this time as the episode will be filmed as a farewell tour for the 2 departing family members. Final 4 episodes for them so treasure the month of June.
