One of a legion of trendsetting Korean Celebs, Uhm Jung Hwa is bundled up in feline-inspired fur coats and custom-made dresses in her new movie, Insa-dong Scandal. She reportedly dropped 200 million won ($150,000) just on the outfits and accessories for her character who is a vicious and almost a villain-like art collector, Bae Tae Jin; who is known for her icy demeanor and outstanding power within the art world. Therefore, Uhm Jung Hwa’s mission was to inspire both terror and a measure of awe that is not just an incarnation of evil, but with a vision of aristocratic human grace.

We all knew that Uhm Jung Hwa was never afraid of trying cutting-edge looks: risky silhouettes and bold accessories. The leopard-print dress, the classic attention-getter is always memorable and sexy, but it’s been done so many times; I mean, even the Wonder Girls could pull it off. I am not a fashion expert, but it’s almost a clichéd look in my humble opinion.

Will her ridiculously expensive outfit successfully sizzle on her? More importantly, will she differentiate herself from previous femme fatale characters? Because quite frankly, she’s running the risk of looking like Kim Hae Soo from Tazza, and it would be an ultimate challenge for her to outshine Kim Hae Soo.
