With the premiere of Jun Ji Hyun’s movie Blood: The Last Vampire coming this weekend on May 29th in Japan (under the title Last Blood), more and more tidbits of the film are being released to the public via the internet.
Recently the first 5 minutes of the film was made public as well as scores of new photos.
After watching the first 5 minutes of the film, Blood: The Last Vampire seems to be exactly the same as the anime movie, which is not just a good thing but a great thing. The acting isn’t top notch, to say the least, but it seems decent enough. The important thing is that the dark, eerie ambiance is there, the special effects look good, and Ji Hyun looks like a sword wielding bad ass.
Well over a hundred new photos of Blood: The Last Vampire were let loose on the internet this past week, but only a small few of them were of Ji Hyun playing her character Saya. Most of the pictures were of the supporting cast, and a good amount of the photos actually gave away key parts of the storyline. I managed to find the good ones of Ji Hyun plus a few choice photos of the vampires in the film.
Jun Ji Hyun has been making the rounds, traveling to different parts of Asia promoting the film. Here’s an interview she did (with subtitles) in Singapore.
No definitive date has been set for the U.S. premiere of Blood: The Last Vampire, but it has been confirmed that the movie will be released in the U.S. sometime this summer. As previously stated, the film is opening this weekend in Japan. It’ll then hit theaters in Korea and Europe next month.
